The 3/50 Project Coming To Old Town - Tickets Available
Cinda Baxter, founder of the nationally-renowned 3/50 Project, will speak at the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater in Old Town Lewisville on October 5. The event will be hosted by the Lewisville Old Town Business Association (OTBA) in partnership with the Lewisville Old Town Preservation Society (OTPS), the Anice Read Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas, the Texas Downtown Association and the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce.
Today’s economy creates a particularly challenging environment for small businesses in downtown areas. In an otherwise complex economic landscape, Cinda Baxter’s message is simple: “Pick 3, spend 50, save your local economy.” Ms. Baxter will speak in Lewisville about simple ways that business owners, consumers and community leaders can work together to create an environment where local businesses can thrive.
The event will be held on October 5 at the MCL Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street. Lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m. and Cinda Baxter will begin speaking at noon with a Q&A session to follow. Tickets are $15 for general admission ($10 for OTBA, OTPS or Lewisville Chamber of Commerce members) and can be purchased at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/2068048589
Lewisville is Cinda Baxter’s first stop on her 2011 Southern Plains tour and only stop in Texas. Ms. Baxter and The 3/50 Project have gained widespread acclaim in the national media, such as the Wall Street Journal, CNN and the Washington Post.
About The 3/50 Project
Created to build loyalty and increased revenue for independent, locally owned businesses, The 3/50 project relies on a simple message: “Pick 3. Spend 50. Save your local economy.”
- Pick three locally owned businesses you’d hate to see disappear, then return to them.
- Spend $50 per month in locally owned businesses. If half the employed U.S. population did so, it would generate more than $42.6 billion in revenue.
- For every $100 spent in locally owned businesses, $68 returns to the local community. When spent in a big box, chain, or franchise, $43 remains. Purchases made online return nothing.
